Now a days a lot of company are investing a lot of money on a website. So, have you ever asked the question that what are the things which a web site's home page should have ?
Well let me answer the question in simple points:
A home page is the first impression for any website and also for the company.
So it can say a lot about a company in even few seconds.
That means that your home page should be designed with a lot of care. The content that you put should be quality content and should give the details about what the company does.
There should also be a balance between text and graphics on home page. Generally on the home page the graphic part is 70% and the text part is 30% on the home page. It is so because if you want to show what you and your company does, a lot of text will not solve your purpose. You should have proper images for your website's home page. Image which tells about your goal.
It should have a good navigation system. It is very good if you have few good images which can give an idea about your services in just a glance.
There should be a head links which gives the main ideas about the pages of your site. This way you give the person a proper idea about your website.
So, once the user gets an idea about your site and about your company, you get control over him. He will now try to get as much information as he can from your website. So, your inside pages are basically more focused on the content of the topic. Like your services page should clearly state what all different services you give and a brief description about that.
